IP Firms.
IP Professionals.
Different Countries, Common Ground
Simge IP works primarily with international patent and trademark firms, independent IP attorneys and agents. Our practice is structured around professional cooperation with colleagues representing clients across jurisdictions, from specialist firms with occasional international instructions to organisations managing extensive IP portfolios.
Our counterparts include partners, patent and trademark attorneys, lawyers, paralegals, portfolio managers and translation professionals. Their roles differ, but each contributes to the advice and representation provided to the client. We work within that professional framework, with due regard for the instructing firm’s responsibilities and established client relationships.
Patent and Trademark Firms
We cooperate with patent and trademark firms requiring representation for their clients’ IP matters in Türkiye. Instructions may concern patents, trademarks or designs, or combine several areas within an ongoing portfolio.
These relationships include firms with an established flow of Turkish work and those seeking representation for a particular matter. The engagement may be limited to a defined procedure or extend to prosecution, translations, renewals and related portfolio work.
The instructing firm remains the client’s principal adviser. Our involvement is established according to the services required and the responsibilities agreed between the firms.
Independent Attorneys and Specialist Practices
Our practice also serves independent patent and trademark attorneys, boutique IP firms and specialist legal practices. Cooperation with these colleagues may involve local representation, technical or procedural input, or support for a particular project.
An engagement can be structured around a single matter without requiring a broader portfolio commitment. Where instructions recur, the relationship can develop into an established working arrangement reflecting the practice’s technical focus, client requirements and preferred procedures.
International Firms and Portfolio Management Teams
For firms handling continuing international portfolios, cooperation may require coordination with several attorneys, administrators and portfolio professionals within the instructing organisation.
We work with these teams on arrangements defined by the nature and volume of the instructions. Relevant considerations include technical fields, file allocation, reporting formats, approval procedures and billing requirements.
Such engagements may involve a dedicated combination of core professionals and independent specialists. The team structure and level of involvement are agreed for the portfolio and reviewed as its requirements develop.
Patent Practices and IP Translation Firms
We cooperate with patent firms and specialist IP translation organisations requiring English-to-Turkish translations and related technical input.
Our professional counterparts include patent attorneys, translation specialists and project managers responsible for individual applications, patent families or continuing translation programmes. Engagements can be organised around specific technical subjects, established terminology and reference materials, with the scope and review arrangements defined for the work.
Firms Requiring International Coordination
We also cooperate with IP firms whose instructions extend across several jurisdictions. These firms may require coordination of related matters in different countries or assistance in identifying appropriate local representation.
The relationship can include both the firm originating the instruction and the independent colleagues responsible for local procedures. The countries, services and allocation of responsibilities are established before the work proceeds.
We welcome reciprocal professional relationships in which each firm’s jurisdictional knowledge and expertise can contribute to suitable matters. Opportunities for cooperation are considered according to the client’s interests and the requirements of the instruction.
IP Firms and Legal Practices Handling Disputes
Our counterparts in contentious matters include patent and trademark firms, IP attorneys and legal practices advising clients on disputes involving rights in Türkiye.
Depending on the matter, cooperation may involve IP and technical input, coordination with specialist litigation counsel or support in relation to existing proceedings. The respective roles of the instructing firm, Simge IP and the cooperating law firm are clarified as part of the engagement.
Professional Cooperation
Our relationships with fellow IP firms may begin with an individual instruction, a specific project or an ongoing portfolio. For each engagement, we agree the scope of services, respective responsibilities and communication arrangements.
The instructing firm remains the client’s primary adviser and point of contact. We carry out the agreed work, report to that firm and communicate directly with its clients only on its instructions. By contributing as professional colleagues and respecting established client relationships, we build a clear and dependable basis for continuing cooperation.
