Our boutique approach allows us to get to know the firms we work with and organise our involvement around their requirements. These may concern an individual application, a technically specialised project, a substantial volume of translations or a portfolio requiring continuing attention.
We combine our core team with independent specialist engineers and translators according to the technical field, scope and volume of the work. This structure enables us to assemble relevant expertise for an engagement rather than expecting every instruction to fit the same team arrangement.
For recurring work, we can establish a team familiar with the instructing firm’s portfolio, terminology and working preferences. The arrangement can develop as requirements change, with responsibilities, points of contact and specialist involvement clarified throughout the engagement.
A Comprehensive IP Practice
Our Turkish practice encompasses patent applications, PCT national phase entries, European patent validations and related prosecution work, together with trademark and design applications, procedures concerning international registrations, renewals and portfolio matters.
Translation forms an important part of this practice. We work with specialist translators and, where required, engineers whose backgrounds are relevant to the subject matter. Reference documents, earlier applications and terminology preferences can be incorporated into the workflow to support consistency across related documents.
We also support the continuing management of rights through annuity and renewal services. You can instruct us to handle individual procedures separately or brought together within a wider portfolio arrangement.
Professional Fees Defined in Advance
We recognise the importance of knowing what an instruction will involve before committing to it. Our professional fees are therefore agreed in advance for a defined scope of work.
Standard procedures and recurring services can follow a fixed-fee schedule. More complex matters can be divided into stages, with the work and professional fee agreed for each stage. Our quotations distinguish professional fees from official fees and applicable translation, specialist or other external costs.
Where the requirements change or further work becomes necessary, we discuss the additional scope and fees before proceeding. This gives the instructing firm a clear basis for its own planning and client discussions.
Cooperation Across Jurisdictions
Our professional relationships extend beyond Türkiye. When a matter requires action in another country, we can assess and coordinate support with independent local IP colleagues in the relevant jurisdiction.
The arrangement is established according to the countries, services and expertise involved. We clarify who will instruct the local representative, how correspondence will be managed and how fees will be approved and billed. Local procedures are undertaken by appropriately qualified professionals, with their role and our coordination responsibilities defined for the engagement.
We value reciprocal professional cooperation. Where suitable matters arise, we welcome opportunities to work with colleagues who entrust instructions to us. These opportunities are considered in light of the client’s interests, relevant expertise and the requirements of the matter, rather than an expectation of matching instruction volumes.
Specialist Cooperation in Contentious Matters
For litigation matters, we cooperate with a specialist law firm, bringing together IP knowledge, technical understanding and litigation expertise.
The respective roles are clarified at the outset. Depending on the engagement, our involvement may include coordination of technical input, review of relevant IP materials and communication with litigation counsel. Court representation is undertaken by appropriately authorised legal professionals.
The scope of work, engagement arrangements and fees are established for the matter, with the instructing firm kept informed of developments and decisions requiring its instructions.
Respect for Your Practice and Client Relationships
We work with the instructing firm as our professional counterpart. Communication, reporting, approval and billing preferences are agreed as part of the working arrangement, with the aim of making cooperation straightforward and consistent.
Your firm remains the primary client adviser and contact. We communicate with your clients directly only on your instructions and do not use matters entrusted to us to solicit those clients.
Where independent specialists or other professional firms are involved, their roles are explained and the relevant confidentiality and information-sharing arrangements are addressed before documents are shared.
